We have made a lot of progress on the 1941 Cadillac
Series 62 Convertible Sedan which belonged to the late
William Finefrock. To see the condition in which we
received the car, please visit the Finefrock
page. As you can see, the Cadillac is receiving
the best of care while at PAR Excellence Classics LLC
during its complete restoration.
Our work now is focused on the dash and firewall. Work
is steady and intensive. All the dash components --gauge
clusters, radio, and heater controls -- were destroyed
in the fire and required replacement.
It is hard to believe when inspecting and evaluating
all the parts for restoration that they were all in fine
working order before coming here. The heat from the fire
actually cooked many of the car's non-metal components
completely. The damage is far worse than a car that had
just sat out in the sun and baked for sixty years. At
least parts from those cars are still visually recognizable.
Once we have the dash components, engine, and transmission
installed, we will mount the front clip and finish off
the engine compartment. From there we will move on to
the upholstery, convertible top, and interior appointments.
This is a meticulous process, as the Convertible Sedan
is one of Cadillac's more intricate body types.
Please continue to check back as we will be updating
the pictures and information during our progress. |
